When Joe and I began working together to develop our
Anno Domini: The Cure For The Common Era
editorial cartoons I expected that Joe would quickly receive a sour response from the Secular crowd. After all, we are involved in the ultimate war of
The Biblical worldview is based upon God's perfect creation, corrupted by man's sin which separated us from our loving Creator, requiring our redemption through the sacrifice of our
redeeming Savior, Lord Jesus the Christ. The Secular view is based on millions of years leading to Darwinism.
Standing up against the Secular worldview will bring a swift and often times
ugly response from the Secular community. This shouldn't be too surprising, however in Joe's case they really went to the extreme, banning the former Pulitzer Nominee from the Association of American Editorial
Cartoonists after we had posted just three of our AD cartoons!
So much for freedom of speech!
We did receive a reprieve when Charles Brooks annual collection,
"The Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year" chose one of the AD's for its 2011 edition.
What will catch most people off guard are the attacks that are generated from within the Christian Church.
A Biblical Black Box Warning! ~ Revelation 22:19
Liberal theologians, compromised pastors, the list is almost endless. I hear from these folks all the
time as I stand firm on the truth of God's non-compromised Word regarding the Biblical foundations found in the book of Genesis.
One college pastor approached me menacingly. "What are you teaching?!" he shouted.
I looked him in the eye and said, "I'm teaching that the Bible is true, word for word and cover to cover."
He backed off slightly and stated, "I'm a college pastor and you can't tell college students that Carbon Dating doesn't work!"
"You're right about that." I replied. "You need to show them why carbon dating doesn't work and how it reveals that the earth's strata layers formed recently during the global flood."
He shook visibly, spun around and stormed off into the sea of pastors.
Since the 1963 coup, when Biblical creation and prayer were removed from public schools in the
U.S.A. and replaced by the religious foundation of Secular Humanism, millions of years leading to Darwinism, Secularists have pretty much enjoyed unbridled successes in the war of worldviews. Including within the
In the United States of America today, which was founded by predominantly Christian individuals on
predominantly Christian principles, only 38% of Americans attend a Christian church on a regular basis. That number is projected to shrink to a mere 15% by 2034.
At a time when the world needs the Lord Jesus Christ more than ever, why is the Church down-trending so swiftly?
Studies reveal 71% of Christian-raised children now leave the Church the day they move out of their parents' home. That figure climbs to 86% by the time they reach their twentieth birthday.
And what has the Church been doing to stem the tsunami of people leaving its membership? Well, sadly, the overall response of the Church
has been to capitulate on the foundational issues.
In place of Biblical truth the Church has been providing rock-like music, state-of-the art lighting, projection and sound systems, Children's Church, summer camps, foreign mission trips, action-packed
Vacation Bible School programs, small-groups, coffee cafés and more, than they are about building their flocks faith upon the Rock. In fact, large portions of today's Church actively aids and abets those
jack-hammering away at the Biblical foundation, which is found in the early chapters of the Book of Genesis.
"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which
sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." ~Matthew 13:24
Over the past 150 years, while men slept, tares have been diligently working to destroy Christianity
from within the Church itself.
Second by second the tares have been planting the seeds of doubt. Minute by minute they have been
recruiting members to assist in compromising away the foundational truths given to us by Moses.
A survey of young adults, 20 to 30 years of age, who were regular Sunday school attendees as kids
showed that 40% had had their first doubts about God and His Word while in middle school. By the time they had graduated high school, 90% were having doubts about the trustworthiness of God's Word! (Beemer Research)
And why should this come as a surprise? After all, most were raised in a Secular school system which teaches that humans are the most advanced animal, having evolved gradually over millions of years of
death and Darwinian processes.
So why hasn't the Church been addressing this issue and teaching their flocks how to stand firm for the non-compromised Word of God?
Hour by hour, while men sleep, the tares have been gaining an ever-growing presence among Christian
leadership. The great majority of accredited Christian colleges and seminaries teach Secular-based old-earth beliefs which put death before man, undermining the perceived authority of God's Word.
Graduates have been filling church leadership positions from Christian Education Directors to Worship leaders to senior pastors, and everywhere in between. These wolves-in-sheep's-clothing, many
honestly misled themselves, block God-honoring information that supports Biblical creation from reaching their flocks, preferring the accolades of man over the 85% of their own children who leave the Church.
As I stood by the lectern after speaking one morning at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, a young man approached me. He said, "I was raised in a Christian home but I lost my faith
because of what I was taught in high school and college. I came to hear you tonight just to make my mother happy. I wanted to say thank you and let you know that I will be back in church next Sunday."
Next a couple of associate pastors from a large Flagstaff church came up to me to tell me how blessed the folks in their church would be to hear my teachings. The pastor for the young adult group said,
"Darwinism is the main reason cited by those leaving my group and I can't wait to get you to speak with them! "
They soon learned that the senior leadership of the church where they were employed compromised
God's Word with various, non-biblical, old-earth beliefs and that I would not be allowed to help their flock. Furthermore, they were told if they brought the subject of Russ Miller sharing at their church
again they would find themselves unemployed.
Following this one-hour teaching an NAU astrobiology professor, whose father was a Bible college
professor, began a web blog attacking me and the truths I share.
He later developed and leads an accredited course at NAU which belittles me personally as well as Biblical creation.
