	The year has flown past too quickly again.
	I have not been able to visit with you as much as I would have liked 
	-- if at all.
	All the chats, phone calls and emails we have missed cannot be made 
	up in a moment.
	But I do want to share what I have been up to (or down to...)
	This sampler contains the latest versions of all the cartoons I have 
	assembled into their own books.
	They also represent the majority of my waking thoughts.
	We won't talk about the others...
	So now you know what I'm doing when you have no idea where I am!
	And now you have an excuse to call me at (480) 478-4457
	-- if only to express your disappointment!
	Merry Christmas to you...

	Editorials, political cartoons, professional muck-raking, etc.	
	You might consign this type of work to the lower rungs of what 
	is socially acceptable, but apparently if you ridicule the right 
	people you can win a Pulitzer Prize as a reward for your poison 
	penmanship.
	Such dubious motives aside, I actually have little use for public 
	office, figures or institutions. Left to my own druthers I’d rather 
	be on the beach, (except it’s been closed due to high bacteria 
	levels) hanging out at the airport, (until they closed the Museum 
	Of Flying) or feeding the squirrels at the park, (but I keep 
	tripping over the dead bodies.)
	No, this is more of an act of vigilantism; my civic duty to shine 
	a Bat Signal of humor on the jokers running amok through our 
	small-town Gotham.
	As it gets harder and harder to squeeze into my old tights, I 
	become more and more a caricature of my better self. Enjoy the 
	nonsense!
	I am Batman.

	Finally, many of you have gone out of your way this year to 
	express your feelings about my work; you wrote letters, made 
	phone calls, lit torches -- but I digress. Whether I hit the bullseye 
	of your funny bone, or somewhere below the belt, I do thank you for 
	playing along.
	
	Remember, I’m only jo-king.
