THE BEST OF ITS KIND
This is easily THE best book I've ever seen on the subject of caricature drawing. While most books describe a few general principles, and then just give lots of examples, Lenn Redman gives a step-by-step classroom approach that, with a little time and practice, will soon have you drawing decent caricatures on your own. Yes, the book also contains a lot of examples of his own drawings, but unlike most books on the subject, the emphasis is on theory and method, and is not just a showcase of the author's work (review by Bob Buethe). |
