My name's David Smith, I'm the cartoonist of a crazy slapstick style comic strip about two 8 year old brothers called: "Poet
Ink."
The comic is loosely based on one of my younger cousins and I when we were kids.
My cousin and I actually used to pretend to "be" the two main characters in the strip, (Frank and Dave Poet)
and we would do little "sketches" as them just to pass the time and make each other laugh.(Yes, we were two 'strange' little buggers)
So years later, while fondly remembering all of the fun my cousin and I
had back then, I decided one day: "Why not create a comic strip out of this?" So...I did.. :o)
I'm a fan of many comics out there and have been for as long as I can remember. I'm especially a huge fan of
"Peanuts". And my love of Peanuts has manifested itself in my comic in a number of ways, one being that in my strip I show only kids, (No adults appear) I guess you could say that it's my little on going
tribute to a great comic by a late great man who's work I've admired all of my life....So I hope that all of you who are reading this will take the time to stop by my website and enjoy the little comic I've created as
both a tribute in my view, not only to Peanuts and comics in general, but also as a tribute to life, fun, comedy, and being "forever young" ;o)
